The garden is named after the poem Korakuen, which speaks about the encouragement of the ruler to only enjoy pleasure after having achieved happiness for his people. Koishikawa is the name of the district. Most Japanese garden try to reproduce Japanese or Chinese landscapes and sceneries in miniature, so also this garden. In the background you see the Tokyo Dome and other modern buildings, despite of this, it remains a beautiful garden. We were there during the cherry blossom season, so it was fantastic to see the cherry trees with all the rose and pink flowers. Also the famous red bridge, which is being photographed by many people, can be found in this garden.  One have to pay a small fee for this garden.
